Flyfishing in Cocodrie, Louisiana

The morning of May 17th  Jordan and Victoria Stanley left the Sportsman’s Paradise searching for Redfish in the marsh surrounding Cocodrie, La. The first stop we saw redfish tailing and pushing looking for bait. It didn’t take very long and Jordan had a 9 pound bronze colored redfish pelling drag. Victoria climbed up on the deck and we pushed up on a pod of 20 plus redfish. She cast a spoonfly on the edge of the pod and the water exploded. Victoria turned toward us and said did ya’ll see that redfish eat my spoon. Her redfish pulled the boga grip to 11 pounds. We ended up catching 13 redfish, 9 blackdrum and 7 sheephead. For their first trip saltwater flyfishing they got hooked. We cranked up around 3’oclock and headed back to the Sportsman’s for a big glass of tea and a shrimp po-boy.
